Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones obtained a bachelor’s degree in physics from Hampton University in his hometown of Hampton, Virginia. He gained his masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and is currently working as a Ph.D. candidate. His masters thesis focused on the feasibility of solar integration through AC-OPF simulations. Aaron’s current research interest include microgrid dynamics, digital twins, and the impact of controllable power electronics for both energy storage systems and distributed energy resources. In summer 2023, Aaron became a National GEM Fellow during his internship at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Outside of work, he is active in the MIT Black Graduate Student Association and likes to swim, workout, and try new foods.
